Easybats™
Since their introduction in 2012 Easybats has become the pottery bat system loved by anyone who likes to work on the pottery wheel.
Now you can lift your work on and off the wheel without damage, without wondering how to re-centre your bat – and without looking underneath to locate little pins. The Easybats base adjusts to fit directly over the wheel head of most wheels – including Venco and Shimpo of course – and the bat inserts come in sizes to suit all work from tiny ceramic cups and boxes, to bowls of all sizes and huge platters too. Easybats is now becoming a brand associated with niche products and great ideas for everyone working with ceramics. Take a look at our ‘Japanese Plate Makers’ and our Turntables for sculpture and decorating your work. Moreover – come back soon and check for new products that we are working on right now. |

Japanese Plate Makers
The Japanese Plate Makers are not our invention – they’ve been around since.... well – since the Japanese invented them.
We first saw them at a pottery in the Margaret River region of Australia - and we thought they were a neat trick.
We only thought of making some when a friend asked if we could prepare some for use in her disability group (where the teacher makes the plates and the clients decorate them) – nobody else was making them - so we did.
Then we took our plate makers to market to see what other people thought and we discovered they were loved by individuals as well as all kinds of pottery groups. We quickly ran out of stock and had to start taking orders!
People love the wooden blocks and the hand turned handles – which are all made from sustainable plantation timbers – and they realised that the plates are very ‘usable’ – as well as looking cool they were fun to decorate.
Individual potters found the plates were a good selling item – and started asking us for different shapes and sizes - and we’ve been happy to oblige with Ovals and Condiment sizes. (I said ‘No’ to the star shaped ones – but I’m still contemplating those hexagons!)
School Teachers and Group Leaders realised that the plates could be a good option for primary school children to decorate and take home (more useful than a painted tile) – and secondary school teachers saw that these Press Moulds could be used by students of all levels to complete their ceramic projects.

Turntables_for_Sculpture_and_Decorating_your_Ceramics
Our Turntables have been our great surprise success.
We started out by making a few Turntables just to use up some offcuts of material that was left over from some sample bats.
We used a massive bearing to make them strong and stable – and when we took them to the market we discovered that they were exactly what every sculptor wanted.
Previously they had been working their sculptures either on a banding wheel or a potter’s wheel in order to rotate their work at will. Both are expensive options which often mean that your work is not at the best working height.
Our Turntables’ profile makes them ideal to use when sitting at a table and your work is normally at the right height.
Their strength is fantastic – the bearing is rated to 150kg – I regularly stand on them to show people my confidence in their strength and I haven’t broken one yet.
The material is ‘Weathertex’ which is made in Australia and is guaranteed for 25 years as an outdoor cladding material. That means it’s ideal for use with damp clay.
Some people have bought 3 Turntables at a time – so they can work on 3 sculptures concurrently.
What more can we say – take a look now :-
